Instructional soccer is a low key program for boys and girls.  The primary intent of the program is to teach basic soccer skills in a fun environment.  The Girls program is held once a week on SUNDAY AFTERNOONS in the Fall.  The Boys program is held once a week on SATURDAY MORNINGS in the Fall.  Sessions run 90 minutes with the first 45-minutes geared to instruction and the second 45-minutes reserved for small sided field "game time."

At the instructional level, teams play other teams from within Ho-Ho-Kus / Saddle River only.  Players are provided with team t-shirts and a soccer ball either at or prior to the first session.  Shorts, socks, shin guards and cleats are not provided by the league but are necessary to play.

RECREATIONAL SOCCER (Grades 3 through 12)

In the Fall, the recreational soccer teams play a schedule of 10 or 11 small sided field (8 vs. 8) or full sided field games (11 vs. 11) against other soccer clubs from within NWBSA.  Only the 3rd and 4th grade teams play small sided games.  Traveling to other NWBSA member towns will be required for approximately half of your games. Ho-Ho-Kus / Saddle River teams do not play against each other, although the teams will practice together and may scrimmage each other.   For grades 9 through 12 only, teams are made up of both boys and girls (co-ed).

GIRLS teams (Grades 3-8) practice on Monday and Wednesdays, with games on Saturday mornings.

BOYS teams (Grades 3-8) practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with games on Sunday afternoons.

High School CO-ED teams (Grades 9-12) practice on Fridays, with games on Sunday afternoons.
